Fact Of Te Tiriti O Te Waitangi

1. Maori had New Zealand to themselves for over 500 years.
2. Captain Cook arrived in 1769.
3. Over 7 months over 5 hundred chiefs had signed the Tiriti.
4. By 1830 7 hundred pakeha were living in New Zealand.
5. traders arrived to load their boats with wood and flaxs to settle overseas.
6. In the 7090s the pakeha begant to hurt the animals
7. In Britain a lot of people wanted to come to New Zealand.
8. A hui was called for Williams to read the tiriti out loud for the last time and over forty chefs signed it but some didn't want to.
9. The British invented Maori chiefs mostly from Northland for a hui at Waitangi to show them the Te Tiriti O Te Waitangi.
10. Every year on the 6th of February we celebrate Waitangi day.
