This is my piece of artwork that I made 

trying to model the real Composition.

Today I was learning what it would be like if I signed up for the Summer Learning Program. It seems fun like it will be lods of fun. Here is a link to find out more about the artist and there art. If you want to make your own piece of artwork click here.

I found it hard to download my artwork and put it onto my blog because we needed to take screenshots. Trying to model it because we needed to keep on clicking on the button to see the real panting. 

Next time I would change some of my colors because I think the could be more brighter to make my art pop. 

I enjoyed making my art look good and changing it to be a bit different than the real art.

Dear Ray,

I am writing to you today to say thank you for driving me and my friends safely to Tui Ridge, Paradise valley, the Loog and back to Gisborne. It was an amazing drive, I loved the view. You drive perfectly I didn't even throw up. I loved watching the movies.

On Camp my favorite parts on camp were the flying fox, I went zooming down like I was flying! I also enjoyed going down the loog, it was my first time going down the loog so it was kind of scary. I loved going to camp.

Thank you for coming on camp and driving me and my friends safely to places. I hope you had fun at camp and enjoyed yourself. Thank you very much for the lollipops you gave us all. I loved the strawberry flavor, it tasted so yum.

Volcanos and Earthquakes.

 

I was learning about volcanoes and earthquakes. This is my slide that I made on volcanoes and earthquakes.

I found it difficult to find facts about volcanoes and earthquakes because a lot of the words I did not know.

Next time I would change some of my facts because some of them are boring.

I enjoyed learning about the earth and the core of the world because it was something new for me.

What Is Matter?

 This is my slide on matter.

I was learning about matter and what it is.

Next time I would change some of my photos because some of them that I made myself are not as good as I wanted them.

I found it difficult to make some of the photos because I had to make them out of shapes.

I enjoyed learning about matter because at the start of this week I did not know what matter was.

Rugby League

We did rugby league and it was so fun. Turanga Health teachers Luke and Riched, come in to our school and teach us to play rugby league. It's fun to be active, it is fun to be outside. It helps us keep healthy.

We start with warm ups and a fun game like Capture The Flag. Then get into the game. We are learning how to side step people. It will help us in games like rugby and some other sports. We are also learning how to pass to people which will help us in other sports.

Is Farming Really Bad For The Environment.

Have you ever wondered about farming and does it help the environment? I strongly believe that we can do better to help the world and also farm carefully. Farms help provide food for people in many different ways so they really help the world as well, but they do pollute the rivers with all the animal waste being washed down into the rivers by the rain. We should be able to think of a better way of farming and helping the environment. 

Firstly, I strongly believe that farms are a great way to provide food, you can get fruit, meat and veggies. You could live mostly off a farm and you would save a lot of money. I would think that all the fruit you get is from an orchard with oranges and apples. If you sit down at the table with a delicious piece of steak in front of you it probably would have come from a farm. So farms can produce huge amounts of food.

Secondly, I absolutely know the rain water washes the farm waste down into the river. So it is hurting the environment. Which a lot of people do not like so they are not so sure on this farming idea. I believe that we can change this and we can make a change by planting plants. It helps the environment if we plant trees next to rivers, they filter the animal waste. 

Lasty I personally know that the waste from farms gets washed down into the river by the rain water. It is not very good for the environment. Without a doubt I like farming, so I personally think there is and will be a way to fix that problem. Maybe we can plant trees next to the river? That will help!

In conclusion, you can all see that farms help people to get food but the waste is getting washed into the rivers, we can help the problem by planting trees on the river bed. There is no question that we can still farm but we just need to think of a better way to help the environment.

What have I done well?	I have 1. I have used emotive language. 2. I have a rhetorical question in my speech.

This is my speech for 2020.

I was learning how to use emotive language and a rhetorical question.

I found it difficult to use my emotive language because I could not find places to put emotive language.

Next time I would use a better hook and to use more repetition because it will help my speech.

I enjoyed writing my speech because it was my fist time writing a speech in St Mary's School.

Giraffes

 Giraffes

Giraffes are the tallest living land mammal. They are like the cow family. All Giraffes have their own unique pattons. Female Giraffes are called cows, the male is called a Bull and of course a baby is called a carf. They only eat plants, no meat so they are herbivores.

Giraffes are 14-19 feet tall about the size of 3 humans. They have 7 bones in their neck, the same number of bones in a human's neck. Their necks are 6 feet tall. A cow can weigh up to 1180kgs. The Bull can weigh up to 2000kgs that's a lot. Their tongues are 46cm long about the length of a child’s arm. 

Giraffes live in the dry Savannas of Africa. They travel in groups of 15 which are called Towers. They travel over the plain woodlands in towers. Sometimes you see them in two’s that can be a baby and a mother. It may be a pair of friends.

A baby can grow 1 inch per day for a week. Giraffes can live up to 25 years old. They eat 45kgs of food a day and spend 16-20 hours a day eating. They walk 30 mins and only need 5 minutes a day of sleep.

I think that Giraffes are beautiful tall animals. That deserves to live happily and that should not be hunted. They need to be protected and live freely like they want to.

Water Worries

This is my reflection on a book I read called Water Worries.

I was learning about water and I learnt it is a really important thing in New Zealand.

I found it hard to answer the questions because some of them I did not know the answer too.

Next time I would change some of my answers because I could have explained them better.

I found it easy to write all the summary because I had read the book.

I liked doing this because it made me think of all the water and how I should save water.

Leaf Life

This is my leaf loop I made, it is like the life of a leaf .
I found it hard to collect yellow leaves because there were not so many.
Next time I would change my leaves to all the same type because I think it would look tidier.
I found it easy to make the loop because I would just have to think about which colour would go next then put them in a loop.
I liked making this because it was fun and it was a great outside activity on a nice sunny day. 

Home Made, Handmade Bag.

This is my home made, handmade T-shirt.
I only needed 3 things to make this. They were an old T-shirt, scissors and string. It was pretty easy.
I found it hard to cut the T-shirt because it was very thick.
Next time I would change my string  because it was not that strong.
I found it easy to tie the knot because I knew how to.
I liked making this because it was fun and it is a good thing to use.

Lego Poppies

This is my lego made poppy to remember the soldiers who fort in war.
I found it hard to get all the pieces I needed because there were not to many.
I found it easy to put all the pieces in because the would just fit like a glove.
Next time I would change my pieces because it does not look to organised.
I enjoyed making this because it was something I had not made out of lego.

Kawa Of Care

This is my Kawa Of Care poster.
I was learning about chromebooks and how to be safe with them because in this class we use them.
I found it hard to write all of the words because there are alot of words to write.
I found it easy to get the photo because I had or ready got a photo.
Next time I would put more photos in because I think t is a bit boring.
I enjoyed making this poster because it was fun and new for me.
